Ynysybwl & Coed-y-cwm Community Council consists of 12 members that represent the residents and businesses of Ynysybwl & Coed-y-Cwm. The Councillors are elected by the public to serve a term of mostly four years. They give up their time on a voluntary basis and are not paid for the work they do.
The Community Council has one paid employee, Annemarie Bevan Edwards, who is Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to the Community Council. The Clerk is based at the old police station, Paget Street on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (please be aware these times may change - see contact page for YCC opening times). Meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of each month at Ynysybwl Community Centre, Windsor Place, Ynysybwl at 6.45pm, with the exception of August. The Notice of the Monthly meetings are placed on the notice board in the village and in Coed-y-Cwm and also on the website. The council also provide grants to many local voluntary groups and some individuals within Ynysybwl & Coed Y Cwm . For instance the council has paid for the startup costs of the football for children in the village, new rugby kit for mini and junior rugby, Busy Bees sewing group, contributed to the Ynysybwl Bowls Club and Trerobart School to purchase a new shed to house games equipment.
The community centre has benefitted from a new cooker to ensure it can continue to operate.
We have provided funds to Ynysybwl Enterprise Project to put on the festival, paying for the stage, insurance for the event and toilets for public convenience.
Ynysybwl Community Project runs the play scheme and have applied for grants for resources to run the scheme.

Ynysybwl & Coed-y-cwm Community Council meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month at the Ynysybwl Community Centre at a pre-arranged date and time. Please note there are no meetings during August.

Recycling bags, both household waste and food waste are now available for collection from MST Sports/ Gurnos House (The Bomb)/ Ynysybwl Community Centre

Office opening times Monday 9am - 5pm ( other than the first Monday of the month - when it is open from 10am - 6pm ). However, please be aware that opening times can vary.
