Welcome to Ynysybwl & Coed-y-cwm Community Council

The Ynysybwl & Coed-y-cwm Community Council has 12 members who represent the residents and businesses of Ynysybwl & Coed-y-Cwm. The Councillors are elected by the public or co-opted to serve a term of four years, councillors can serve more than one term. Councillors are volunteers and are not paid for the work they do.

The Community Council has one paid employee, Annemarie Bevan Edwards, who is Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to the Community Council. The Clerk is based at the old police station, Paget Street on a Monday 9am-5(or 6)pm (please be aware these times may change - see contact page for YCC opening times). Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of each month at Ynysybwl Community Centre, Windsor Place, Ynysybwl at 6.45pm, with the exception of August. Are you aware that the Community Council provide financial aid and support for local projects such as the following:-

Butchers Paddling Pool 
Christmas decorations in Ynysybwl and Coed-y-Cwm
Senior citizens Christmas dinners
Ynysybwl Playscheme which covers all school holidays
Summer flowers
Gwyl summer festival 
Royal British Legion D Day celebrations                                                                      Youth and adult sports groups                                                                                     Trerobart School                                                                                                          Community Centre 

The items listed above represent just a few of the projects the Community Council supports in a variety of ways.

Council Meetings

Ynysybwl & Coed-y-cwm Community Council meetings are on the first Monday of every month at the Ynysybwl Community Centre at a 18:45pm. Please note there are no meetings during August.

Recycle Bags

Recycling bags, both household waste and food waste are now available for collection from MST Sports/ Gurnos House (The Bomb)/ Ynysybwl Community Centre
